WMS ACCOUNTABILITY BILL PASSES HOUSE

The bill bringing accountability to the Washington Management Service and exempt service passed the House March 4 on a vote of 95-0. SHB 2049 provides transparency on the numbers of WMS and exempt positions and the special pay they receive.

Transparency? Does this mean that now we'll know how much these people receive as 'bonuses'? We hear that they receive a bonus if they can cut their budgets, and they cut their budgets by limiting travel, classes (education), even postage! All so they can receive a bonus.

If the WMS and the EMS all took a 3% cut in their pay, how many of the general workers jobs would be saved? Just look at how many jobs are being cut because there isn't enough $$ to pay their wages. And if Management was REALLY cutback like it was supposed to be, we probably wouldn't be in the mess we're in.
