Calls needed on Natural Resources fees bill, DOC safety bill

The Senate Ways and Means Committee today (Friday, April 1) is set to vote on two bills vital to our Fish and Wildlife, Parks, Natural Resources and Corrections members.
“DISCOVER PASS” BILL
SSB 5622, the “Discover Pass” user fee bill to replace funds being cut in Fish and Wildlife, Parks and Natural Resources, comes up for a vote at 1:30 p.m., today, April 1, in the Senate Ways and Means Committee.
CALL YOUR SENATOR:  Call your senator at 1-800-562-6000 and urge them to support SSB 5622, the “Discover Pass” bill. We must support user fees necessary to retain critical natural resource agencies and services.
CORRECTIONS SAFETY BILL
The Senate Ways and Means Committee at 1:30 today is also set to vote on SSB 5907, the Corrections safety bill. In testimony Wednesday, Federation Lobbyist Matt Zuvich again said the bill needs to include Community Corrections officers to cover the entire DOC system.
CALL YOUR SENATOR:  Call your senator at 1-800-562-6000 and urge them to support SSB 5907 with amendments including Community Corrections officers. This bill born of tragedy should truly cover all of DOC to avoid any more tragedies.
